Everything you ever wanted to know about our lenses — protection, material, technologies and colors. If you'd rather choose quickly, our simple lens guide is the place to start.

100% UV protection

Every one of our lenses blocks 100% of harmful ultraviolet rays — UVA, UVB and UVC. Whatever color or technology you choose, your eyes are fully protected from the sun's UV.

The material: TAC

All our lenses are made from TAC (cellulose triacetate), a high-quality optical material widely used in sun lenses. It's light to wear, holds its color beautifully, and is the ideal base for polarized filters.

Above all, it delivers distortion-free vision — what you see stays true, with no warping. And every lens is cut to the tenth of a millimeter to match your exact frame.

Protection levels

Sun lenses are graded from 0 to 4, depending on how much light they filter:

Category 0 — Near-clear. For style and indoor use.

Category 1 — Light tint, for overcast or low-light conditions.

Category 2 — Medium tint, for moderate brightness.

Category 3 — Dark tint, for bright sunshine. The most common level for sunglasses.

Category 4 — Very, very dark, for extreme brightness such as high mountains and glaciers. Not suitable for driving.

Our three technologies

Standard

A full, even tint that protects your eyes from the sun. Not polarized — the essential choice for everyday wear.

Polarized

When sunlight bounces off a flat surface — water, a wet road, a car hood, snow — it scatters into harsh, concentrated horizontal light. That's the blinding glare that makes you squint.

A polarizing film blocks that horizontal glare while letting the useful light through. The result is a calmer, clearer, more comfortable view.

Polar+ Excellence

Our finest lens. Fully polarized, with a special pigment built into every Polar+ color that deepens contrast and makes colors look richer and more vivid.

Colors and finishes

Solid tints

Even shades across the whole lens — black, brown, green G15, yellow and more. The timeless sunglass look.

Gradients

Darker at the top and lighter toward the bottom — available in black, brown, green G15 and blue.

Mirrored

A reflective coating on the front of the lens, available in many finishes — blue, gold, silver, bronze, green, red, rose and more.

Photochromic

Lenses that automatically adjust to the light, darkening in bright conditions and lightening when it's dimmer (Category 1 to 3). They react to UV light.

Clear Anti-Reflective & Blue Light Blocking

Near-clear lenses (Category 0). Clear Anti-Reflective is a clear lens for style and indoor use; Blue Light Blocking is designed for indoor and screen use.

Standards

Our sun lenses are made to meet international optical standards, including ANSI Z80.3, ISO 12312-1 and AS/NZS 1067.
